Nice slow start to the day after a great night’s sleep. Getting out of town took a lot out of us and we went to bed before 9PM. Left the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club at 9:25 am for the long slow run out of the canal to Lake Michigan. Didn’t need to wait on any bridges today, but did have to miss a few fishing boats. Apparently you can only catch fish in the middle of the channel!

The new bridge in Sturgeon Bay WI
Notice all the small fishing boats just passed the bridge, only 11 of them!
Entered Lake Michigan, even after Labor Day, which most Loopers are afraid of! Winds were once again light to nothing. Still had some soft rollers left over from the South East, but a great ride.

That Terrible Scary Lake Michigan!
We once again tried the trawler thing, running at 830RPM and moving along at 10MPH. It is nice not to burn all the fuel, but I was only able to do it for 1-1/2 hours, and then it was time to run them up a little and get there!
We arrived in Kewaunee at 11:50am to stay at the City Dock. Turns out it is the wall in front of the Ludington Tug boat. Should not be a problem tonight as winds are supposed to be light from the South. Welcome to Kewaunee!

Took a nice bike ride around town and out on to the point with the nice houses. Turns out it was just across the channel from our boat!

For all those who care about Memphis, more than our trip, she is having a blast. Sleeping out back while we travel and then can’t wait to get off and run around the park when we stop.
We have a zoom call tonight to figure out when we will be heading down the IL river. It is still closed and the Army Corp of Engineers has changed the plan for the 300+ pleasure craft waiting to head downstream. More on that tomorrow!
Hope you had a great day and more to follow tomorrow as we head down the lake to Sheboygan for two nights.
