Last Day In Kenosha 9/30/23

Our time here in Kenosha is coming to an end tomorrow morning as we will continue down Lake Michigan to Hammond, IN. We will await our river run with our flotilla there.

We have had a great time exploring Kenosha and getting to know some of the great people here in the marina on our dock. I would like to thank Patrick Scott for his help driving me around town the first day to get the parts needed to repair a few items on the boat after our fun run in the big waves. Thanks again, Patrick.

We spent a fun afternoon running around on the trolley and exploring some of the museums here in town.

The trolley does a 4-mile loop around town and by all the museums.

Our first stop was the Dinosaur Museum. Was not a large museum, but it was perfect for my attention span!

After the Dinosaur Museum we hopped back on the trolley and headed to the Civil War Museum to learn about the role several of the Midwestern states played in the Civil War.

As we returned to the harbor that day, several boat owners were starting to arrive to the boats for a long weekend. We enjoyed some drinks with them and were invited to join them for dinner in town. It has been a great visit here in Kenosha.

We enjoyed the full moon, and tonight with clear skies you can really appreciate the spectacular view here in the harbor! Almost looks like the sun.

After we attend early church tomorrow morning, and then a final breakfast at Frank’s Diner, we will cast off the lines and head south.

For those concerned about Memphis, she is loving being a LOOPER DOG! Lots of fresh air and so many nice people that like to pet her as she runs down the dock several times a day. After which she likes to sit back and relax in her favorite spot!

Until our next post, I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
