We have been here in the Hammond Marina now for 5 days. Those that know me understand that I am ready to move on! The marina is huge, and we are out near the end of the last dock. The gate off the dock to take Memphis out is exactly 1/4 mile away. On top of our normal walks and bike rides, we are getting plenty of exercise.
We are attached to the Horseshoe Casino, good thing I don’t like to gamble. We did go in for dinner one evening, but they really only have fast food, so we have been eating almost all the meals on the boat since we arrived last Sunday.

Amy enjoying our one meal in the casino!
I think this is pretty rare, but we have over 80 Loopers in this marina at the same time. It has made for trying to learn a lot of names quickly, so thank GOD I have Amy along to help me with that. Last evening we did docktails with a large group, and really enjoyed it.

View of some of the Loop boats, is only part of the harbor.
Here is a panoramic view of the marina from the office.

Night view from the casino, and we are off the screen to the top right!
Lots of long walks and bike rides, and Memphis even enjoyed a walk to cross the Stateline.

Now for the serious part. The Cat mechanic was here this morning and did not find anything wrong with the engine. We are having him replace a throttle computer, as it has acted up in the past and might, we hope is the problem. The issue does not happen on a regular basis, so we have to start somewhere.
They have the part in stock, and he said he can get it done today without any problem. Keep your fingers crossed, and any other parts that will help!
We plan to move with part of our group Saturday morning around 7:30am, and start down the river system.
More posts to come as we head out to Joliet Saturday. Until then have a great rest of your week!
