Alton 10/14/2023

We have been here in Alton since last Wednesday, enjoying slowing down and preparing for our next three nights at anchor on the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.

We did fuel up and pump out the boat so we should be all set for the next part of our adventure. Our slip, which is another end of a T dock, is just under the highway bridge. It will be nice to be on anchor away from all the road noise.

We also had a great visit from John and Kristin Lowrey, friends from college. They live in the St Louis area and come over for a drink and a great dinner out. It has been to long since we have seen each other. Hoping it will not be as long before we see them again.

Amy and I have been running around town and enjoying some of the many great resturants here in town. This has been a nice break, as we will be cooking all meals for the next few days on the anchor. Here are some pictures as we have enjoyed Alton.

So this will be all from Alton IL. We will push off and head down the Mississippi River Sunday toward Kaskaskia Lock and dam and hope to tie to the wall or anchor behind the dam.

More to come soon!
