Good evening from Paris Landing State Park and Marina in TN! We had a busy morning and did not pull away from the dock until noon. We were not sure if we would anchor on the way to Paris Landing or be able to make it with the late departure.
The day began with a early morning 3+ mile walk, in the dark! We had both the electronics guy and the dinghy guy coming this morning before we could leave the dock.
Both guys were right on time.
I want to compliment Dustin from Bourbon City Yacht Tenders for his unbelievable customer service. He delivered a new dinghy to us in March, but it sustained a little hull damage in transport. He let us keep the dinghy and use it all summer and told us he would exchange it when we passed near him on our Loop. As promised, he showed up today and exchanged the dinghies with no questions asked. You don’t get to experience customer service like that much anymore! Thanks Dustin.
Then it was time for the final work on the electronics. Justin was right on time and had the final part installed quickly. Then it was sea trial time. We headed out and he started to calibrate everything. Took about and hour for him to get everything configured and set up. We then ran for a bit to verify everything was working properly. AND IT IS!! First time in two years that all the fantastic Garmin items in the boat are working as they were designed to. Thank you Justin for all your hard work to get us put together and working so we could leave on time!
Pulled out of the dock at noon and crossed over from Lake Barkley to Kentucky Lake. This took us from the Cumberland River to the Tennessee River. We will now be on the TN river for a lot of miles.
We ran down the west side of the Land Between The Lakes today. It was a beautiful sunny day with calm winds. Trees are starting to change setting up some great pictures.

Here is the NEBO map for those following along with where we are!

We will spend two nights here so we can celebrate a wake crossing with some friends we made in Hammond. Should be a relaxing day tomorrow, but as you can imagine, I do have a list of things I plan to get done. Shouldn’t be too bad.
Until the next post, I hope you have a great start to your week.
