Well this has been a very full day. We got up early to fuel and pump out the boat. Then headed to Look Out Mountain for a ride up the Incline Railway! That was a short 10-minute ride right up to the top of the mountain for some great views.

Yes I was able to get a haircut yesterday here in town!

We walked up to Point Park and toured the historical building with all the info about the Civil War battle for control of Chattanooga.

A famous painting of “The War Above The Clouds”. It is 10′ tall by 30′ long.
After the ride back down the mountain we grabbed another UBER and headed to a must see for our family. Ruby Falls! After driving to Florida as a child so many times and seeing everything that does not move painted, see Rock City and Ruby Falls, we had to see it.
We skipped Rock City but took in Ruby Falls. Someone should have told me that miners are about the same size as astronauts! We did a guided tour into the caves and I was bent over for only 1 hour down there! Some of the passages were very pretty and the falls at the end were magnificent.

Remember the difference between stalagmites and stalactites?

The cave above and just before the fall.

The famous Ruby Falls. The water flow is down because of the drought they have been having in this area. That is also affecting the water levels in the rivers. Lucky us with the 5′ draft.
We can now laugh when we drive near Chattanooga and say we have been there! Only took 58 years of driving by to stop!
Came back to the boat and hooked up the trailer to the bike and we were off to the store. Needed to provision the boat for the 5-day trip back to Iuka. We leave tomorrow morning and should be back to Iuka Sunday.
Have a great rest of your week and more to come once we get to Iuka!
