Good morning from what we hope will be our last morning in Gulf Shores. It was a nice stay here for the first 3-4 days, but we are all ready to move on and travel from the famous Lulu’s Homeport Marina and Resturant.

We have been here waiting for the local boat yard to replace an oil pressure sensor on the port engine. They stopped by Monday to look at the problem, and agreed we just needed to replace the sensor. Planning ahead we decided to replace the sensors on both engines! We weren’t told that we would then wait until Thursday for the second one to arrive so they could come back and install them! Hoping they show early this morning so we will then move east toward Pensacola.
While we have been here, lots of other loopers have moved through. This means you have the opportunity for gatherings every night with a different group of loopers.

This has been fun, but the days are slow as there is not much to do around this area by the harbor. These pictures are from a couple of nights at Lulu’s!
We then decided to dinghy down one evening to The Wharf at Orange Beach. This is a resort marina with lots of shops and restaurants around the area. Three looper couples with dinghies made the run down in the late afternoon, and then back in the dark. Very glad to have a Garmin chart plotter on the dinghy so we could follow our breadcrumbs back to Lulu’s.

Great dinner with the musician (in the hat) that was playing right next to us that evening.

Even got to enjoy the tree lighting. This was complete with fireworks and a light show. They went all out on this one.
Keep your fingers crossed that the yacht yard shows up early enough for us to move on today!
I will post again from Pensacola once we move. Our plan is to move east and look for the next weather window for our 200-mile crossing of the Gulf to Tarpon Springs. Weather window means, calm winds and small waves from the correct direction. If all goes well, we should have 4 more moving days before we wait for that weather opening in Carabelle FL.
Until the next post, hope you have a great rest of your week. (Amy did not proofread this one, so please forgive any errors in my writing!)
