Sliding Up the East Coast of Florida in The ICW 4/10/2024

Hello from Daytona Beach! Since the last post we had a new high pressure fuel line installed, explored Titusville to the fullest, watched a Space X rocket launch, moved from Titusville to Daytona through some very shallow water, and think we have solved the engine vibration and bogging issue with the diagnostics of a bad sensor.

Sean, our new diesel mechanic friend, was able to get the fuel hose made and installed for us first thing Monday morning and we were on our way north again. This was only after exploring Titusville, finding a few more wild animals around the area, and watching a rocket launch.

There are a lot of alligators around the area, we see them every day. Time to keep Memphis on a short leash.

One of the many harbor buddies!

Titusville, where turtles and alligators seem to get along!

View from a restaurant across from the marina and out on a point by the ICW.

Sunday evening, we were able to see our first ever rocket launch. This was a Space X rocket set off from pad 39A at Cape Canaveral.

Up she goes.

Very cool jet trail.

It was fun to watch go off and you could feel the rumble as it lifted off.

Monday morning was moving day again. Good thing, as the marina was kicking us out because they had other boats coming in and did not care if we were on one or two engines. We are not big fans of the F3 marine management group at this point in our trip! We will try to avoid any marina run by them in the future.

We moved 48 miles north to Daytona. This was a long day as we went through 30 miles of no wake areas on this segment.

Cape Canaveral rail bridge run by CSX.

Cape Canaveral in the distance as we head north. One more rocket on the pad that launched Monday.

Going up the ICW toward Daytona Beach in the distance.

Arriving at Halifax Harbor Marina in Daytona.

This is a large marina with over 200 slips.

All tucked in at Halifax Harbor. We are having one more issue with the engines that seems like a bad sensor. I had to have a throttle sensor replaced in Hammond, IN, and it appears that the sensor installed is a bad part. Wish me luck getting that money back from CAT!

Last evening we were lucky to see Bob and Cindy Wilk along with Cindy’s sister Joanne and her husband Benjy for a drink on the boat and then out for dinner. It was nice to see family again.

We have one more day here in Daytona before we start north for one night in Palm Coast, and then on to St. Augustine for 3 nights. We are looking forward to seeing some of the historic area of FL. We are supposed to have really strong winds tomorrow, over 40 MPH, so it will be a good day to stay put.

We are looking forward to moving on, but all in good time.

Until the next post I hope you have a great back half of the week.
