Another early day, and one more tomorrow! Amy can’t wait to sleep in, as I have been getting her up before sun up, and that does not make for a happy Amy!

Another picture from a Memphis’s early morning walk before sunrise.
After so many barges the last couple days, we decided to tie to one for the evening. Actually, staying at Logsdon Tug Service tonight in Beardstown, IL tied to their barge!

Memphis does like being ashore after a long day on the boat, but she is very relaxed while we are underway!

Another day with lots of barges and some skinny passes, but all went well. We did see lots, and I mean lots, of eagles. Even got to see two of them fighting over a fish. We did get a picture for you, look carefully.

And as I said, lots of barges!

Had to wait for this one to make the S corner before we could pass.

Had a skinny pass on this one, we actually went to the right in this picture and fit between the land and the barge!
Today was a long run, as we left at 6:45am from Peoria and arrived at Beardstown at 2:10PM without any stops and only one lock. It was a 75 mile day. Lots of skinny water, but the worst was an area called Devil’s Elbow! Very tight and shallow. We are very happy to be tied to the tug wall for the night.
The tug service is a great stop, and we have a lot of our original flotilla with us. Went out for a nice Mexican food dinner after the fun walk up and down the steps from the barge!

Memphis was a little unsure to start with but has the hang of it now! (Better than some of the Loopers)

Believe it or not, a great Mexican Restaurant in a small town!
By the way, if I remember I will try to post our NEBO log from each day.

Also, the claim to fame for Beardstown is that Abraham Lincoln became a notable lawyer after a case he won here.

As a final note for the day, we have been traveling with someone who I have been following on YouTube for several years. He and his wife began their first loop several years ago. They finished almost three consecutive loops before they sold the boat and started helping others loopers. We have been traveling with him, as a hired captain, for the entire river trip. Fun to meet Sam from “What Yacht To Do”!

So good night from Beardstown and enjoy our sunset picture from our barge wall. Hope you have a great Tuesday as Amy, Memphis, and I travel over 100 miles to Alton, IL tomorrow.
